The Banyumas Scout Council achieved a national milestone with the Mass Inauguration of 13,149 Eagle Scouts at Satria Stadium, Purwokerto, on Monday (24/11/2025). The event was officially certified by the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) as the largest Eagle Scout and Love, Proud and Understand Rupiahs (Cinta Bangga Paham Rupiah) inauguration in Indonesia.
Chief of Banyumas Scout Council, Dr. Agus Nur Hadie, S.Sos., M.Si said that the total of 1,040 scouts bases across 27 sub-district scout councils participated. All candidates completed comprehensive requirements, including SKU/SKK assessments, unit-level mentoring, and evaluations by Eagle Scout Development Teams. Participants included 9,670 Cub Scouts, 3,317 Boy Scouts- Girls Guide, and 162 Rover-Ranger Scouts.
The ceremony was attended by key regional and national leaders, including the Banyumas Scout Advisory Council, Vice Regent, the Deputy Speaker of the Regional House of Representatives, representatives from Puskurjar BSKAP Kemdikdasmen RI, the National Scout Council, the Central Java Scout Regional Council, and Bank Indonesia.
Dr. Sigit Muryono, M.Pd.Kons, Deputy Chair for Youth Development of the National Scout Council Indonesia, praised Banyumas for its outstanding achievement of inaugurating 42,326 Eagle Scouts from 2019 to 2025. He noted that Banyumas has set a national benchmark for structured and sustainable Scout development.
He also commended the Banyumas Scout Council for earning the title of Best Scout Council in Central Java for 35 times consecutively, showing the dedication of Scout leaders and cross-sector collaborators.
Dr. Sigit encouraged the integration of active Eagle Scouts into programs under the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas). With Scouting now mandated as a compulsory extracurricular activity under Ministerial Regulation Number 13 of 2025, he emphasized the importance of strengthening character education through the Scout Movement.
He concluded by expressing hope that the achievement of the Banyumas Scout Council will inspire Scout councils across Indonesia.

This event is a testament to the impact Scouts have in fostering leadership and collaboration. It’s exciting to see the local Scout groups working together with TNI, Polri, and Basarnas to prepare for disaster response – such initiatives really show the heart of the Scout movement.
